UPCOMING INVESTMENTS IN GLOBAL AIRPORTS

Upcoming investments in global airports reflect a surge in demand for modernized and expanded infrastructure to accommodate increasing passenger volumes and technological advancements. Here are five of the biggest projects expected to be completed in short term:

🔵 Long Thanh International Airport – VIETNAM

This ambitious project aims to relieve congestion at Tan Son Nhat Airport. The first phase, costing $7.8 billion, will include a terminal and two runways, with an annual capacity of 25 million passengers. Future phases will expand this to 100 million passengers by 2050, making it one of the largest airports in Southeast Asia.

🔵 JFK New Terminal One – USA

The New Terminal One at JFK International Airport in New York is part of a major $18 billion redevelopment project. It includes constructing a terminal powered significantly by renewable energy, including the largest airport solar array in the U.S. This terminal is slated to open in 2026.

🔵 Changi Airport Terminal 5 – SINGAPORE

Terminal 5 of Singapore’s Changi Airport is under construction and set to greatly expand the airport’s capacity. This project integrates sustainability measures, like improved energy efficiency, and is designed to accommodate an estimated 50 million passengers annually once completed.

🔵 Solidarity Transport Hub – POLAND

Located near Warsaw, this $8 billion project is planned as Poland’s largest airport. It will feature a passenger terminal and a multimodal transport hub. Initial operations are expected by 2027, but significant progress is anticipated by 2026.

🔵 Los Angeles International Airport – USA

LAX is undergoing a $14 billion improvement initiative, including terminal upgrades and connectivity enhancements, with much of the project expected to wrap up by 2026.
